WRDC wins Telly and ACE awards for its video series,"Working for Rural Prosperity."

"These videos provide information that will help decision makers
in rural areas make more educated choices," said Don Albrecht,
director of the WRDC. "The videos use research findings from
land-grant universities in the West and explain how it can be
applied in areas including land-use, business, agriculture, etc."

The Western Rural Development Center is one of four regional centers in the U.S. dedicated to help create thriving rural communities with economic opportunities. The WRDC:

  • works to build the capacity of rural citizens in the 13 western states and 4 U.S. Pacific Territories.
  • provides on-the-ground community development for rural citizens.
  • effectively mobilizes multiple agencies, universities, Extension Services, and organizations for the benefit of rural citizens.
  • efforts directly benefit rural communities by providing them with training and skills to invigorate their local economies.
